Below is a list of commonly asked questions with answers:
Registration & Packet Pick Up Questions
How do I register? You may register either online, in person at any of the packet pick up locations, or on race day at race site (Note*, If you wait until the last day to register, you will pay a much higher price to participate).
What is the easiest way to register? Registering online is the easiest way to sign up
Can I register at a packet pick up location? Yes
Can I pick up a packet for a friend of family member? NO, due to USAT Requirements all athletes must pick up their own packet.
I am on a relay, can I pick up my team members packet? NO, each team member must check in. If you are on a relay team, we will check each team member in individually, the last person on the team to check in will be given the teams racing materials.
If I purchased one day insurance within the registration process, what do I need to bring to packet pick up? You will only need to bring a photo ID.
If I am a USAT yearly member, what do I need to bring to packet pick up? You need to bring a photo ID and a CURRENT copy of your USAT card.
Are credit cards accepted at packet pick ups? Yes

I registered and now can't compete, can I get a refund? No, we do not offer refunds. You may defer your registration to the following year if you wish. *Deferrals are due 30 days prior to the event.* A $25 fee will apply.
Am I guaranteed a race shirt? All pre registered participants are guaranteed the race shirt size they requested during the registration process. Race Day and Packet Pick up sign ups are not guaranteed the shirt size of their choice, shirts will be given on a first come first serve basis. We will do our best to get everyone the shirt size they want.
What type of shirts are being given? The 2019 Paris Tennessee shirt will be a short sleeve cotton shirt.
Will I be able to change my shirt size? You will NOT be able to exchange your shirt until after the race. We will have an area for shirt exchange after the race for those wishing to exchange their shirts. You will be given the shirt size you ordered during registration, sorry but no exceptions.
What will we receive at packet pick up? You will receive your race shirt, swim cap, bike number, and run number.
When will we pick up our timing chip? Your timing chip will be picked up just outside of the transition area on race morning.
What type of timing is being used? Start2Finish Event Timing will be timing the event.
Where do we put our timing chip? Your timing chip will be on attached to an ankle strap, you may wear this strap on either ankle. Participants must where their RUN number on the FRONT of their outer most garment.

Race Day Questions
Where is the race located? Paris Landing State Park, 16055 Hwy 79 N, Buchanan, TN 38222
What time does the race start? 7:00am
What if it is raining on race morning? The race will happen rain or shine, depending on weather conditions, we may have to delay the start for safety reasons.
When should I arrive? Most triathletes plan to arrive at an event 1.5 hours prior to race start time. If you have not picked up your packet at a packet pick up, please arrive at least 1 hour in advance of race start.
How long will it take to find a place to park? Around 2-3 minutes. Too avoid long lines please arrive early.
Are recumbent bikes allowed? No, they are not approved by USA Triathlon.
Can we participate as a relay team? Yes, relay teams are allowed
Do we need three people to compete as a relay? Not necessarily, you may compete in a relay as a two person team. One person from the team will compete at two disciplines.
When are the awards? 10:00am
What categories are you awarding? Please see the awards page on the website.
Race Questions
Are there time cut offs for the swim?We do not implement a time cut off for our swim, however we strongly suggest that any athlete be fully competent in swimming before attempting to complete any triathlon. As long as the athlete can swim, there will be plenty of time for them to complete the swim portion of the race.
Am I an Age Grouper, Clydesdale/Athena, or Open Amateur? Most participants will be an age group participant. Clydesdale are males 220lbs or more, Athena participants are female 165 lbs or more.
Do I have to race Clydesdale/Athena if my weight meets the standards? No, you may race as an age grouper if you wish.
